April 19, 2005

Ghetto Blast and Wheels Instead of Hooves.
Thursday May 12th
Newcastle Upon Tyne

After what can only be described as an extremely healthy break, Ghetto Blast is back promoting some of the most innovative and exciting electronic based music events around. Working alongside the well-established Wheels Instead of Hooves collective, their upcoming event in May promises to be a truly unmissable occasion.

Both nights having joined together are bringing the truly original and brilliant Machine Drum (Merck) and the frighteningly innovative Scrubber Fox (Skam/Ghetto Blast) to the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne, for what looks set to be an exciting and unpredictable evening of cutting edge electronica and twisted hip-hop. Having released six amazingly crafted albums on Merck and numerous EPs, Machine Drum has fast became one of the most exciting and thought provoking electronic musician’s around, and with his new ‘T Stewart’ LP set to drop soon things look to be getting a great deal more exciting. Alongside Machine Drum is Scrubber Fox, who has already enjoyed success in 2005 in the shape of releasing music on the Skam records ‘Skam Cats’ compilation, and playing more show’s than most upcoming producers can hope for in a whole year. Both artists promise to raise the bar and give Newcastle a dose of some much-needed electronic medicine.
DJ support on the night comes from Ghetto Blast, Ladies Gift and the mysterious Moozy with Visual’s courtesy of Newcastle’s own Retina Glitch and the European Animal design team.
