June 20, 2008

This looks good. Sadly it has been pulled from the Edinburgh Film Festival. Hopefully it will get a release in the UK.

Haze logo

I’ve just discovered that graf artist and designer Eric Haze has a blog! Wicked. I like the shirts he has done for Stussy. I wish I had known about them when I was in London at the weekend, but ah well. I’ll definitely be picking up one of these shirts when I get paid.

Seems like Ben Drury has been putting up some more posts on his Silent Listener website. Head on over there and check it out. It’s also worth checking out The Other Club blog that is happening over at Slam X Hype. This blog is by Will Bankhead, Emmet Keane and Ben Drury.

Camouflage City

April 1, 2008

There is an exhibition about camouflage happening up in Aberdeen at the moment. Head on over to the site to see more about it. It looks pretty good. I should probably head up there to check it out. Anyway, it is called Camouflage City and is happening at the Gordon Highlanders Museum.

Invasion In The UK

March 25, 2008

Inavsion In The UK Cover

I recently received this book as a present from my brother. It’s pretty interesting. I really like Space Invader‘s work and this is a great little guide to his invasions of the UK. It tells you about the ones in London, Manchester and Newcastle. If you are interested in his work, then it is worth checking out. It has all the maps for the UK And photos of all the individual invaders, as well as showing some of his studio work and work he has done exhibitions in the UK. It’s available from his website.

Hairy On The Inside

Hairy On The Inside poster

Hairy On The Inside – An Exhibition of DC Recordings Sleeve art.

8th – 24th March @ ROUGH TRADE EAST Dray Walk, Off Brick Lane, London. 08:00 – 20:00 daily. free entry

Following on from two critically acclaimed shows in Paris (Colette) and Antwerp (Lucy), DC Recordings acclaimed La Boca sleeve art will shortly be the focus of a two week exhibition at Rough Trade’s Brick Lane shop from 8th – 24th March 2008.

Famed for their retrograde charm and compelling sensory weirdness, the DC Recordings sleeve designs have perfectly complimented the divergent audio material that they so lavishly conceal. Designed by London design circus La Boca, they have consistently been the focus of features and media expositions in their own right as well as objects of desire amongst the music buying public.

The exhibition consists of the first wave of enlarged high quality Giclee prints from the La Boca / DC Recordings repertoire.

60-62 Commercial St, Spitalfields, London. 9pm til Late. £5
KELPE LIVE (Ex-Aquarium Album Launch)
THE OSCILLATION LIVE (With Visuals By Julian Hand)

Apologies, I was too lazy to write up my own wee blurb about it, so I just stole the Myspace post I read. Anyway, I see this exhibition is on when I am down in London, so I should be going along to see this. I’ll try to remember to take some photos and post them up. If you are in London you should try and get down to the gig. Kelpe is pretty decent live. Not seen The Oscillation. Oh here is a wee video by Julian Hand for The Oscillation.

Not sure who did the remix, but it is pretty good.

Nigel Peake and Howies

March 4, 2008

Nigel Peake's t-shirt for Howies

Howies have produced a t-shirt designed by Nigel Peake. It’s really nice. This design is available for men and women. Shame the women’s t-shirt has a pink print on it. It looks like the men’s one has a purple print! Excellent.

Is Space Invader in Edinburgh?

February 18, 2008

Check out the Running Amok blog! It would be cool if he was in Edinburgh! Anyway, here is a look at his studio in Paris. I found it on Youtube.
