Massive Attack – Meltdown

June 20, 2008

Massive Attack Meltdown Programme

I managed to nip down to London on the 14th to catch Massive Attack live at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Meltdown festival they have been co-ordinating. It was great to see them again. They’ve really got their live show down well. They managed to play quite a few new tracks, which was great. 16 seater which features Horace Andy on vocals was brilliant. They seem to have moved back to more of a Mezzanine sound, which is no bad thing. Anyway, I picked up a programme for the festival and managed to get Daddy G to sign it for me, as I met him at the merchandise stall. Can’t wait to hear the new album.

Gaslamp Killer – I Spit On Your Grave

June 20, 2008

GLK - I Spit On Your Grave cd cover

I managed to buy this from Piccadilly Records this week. It’s the Gaslamp Killer mix cd entitled I Spit On Your Grave. What a pleasant title. Anyway, this is pretty enjoyable. It’s about an hour long and split over three tracks. Lots of beats going on. I heard some Broadcast on there and some Flying Lotus. Pretty sure I recognised some other bits as well. Be quick on this one. The sleeve has been designed by Obey. If you like weird fuzzy guitar, big drums and wonky beats. This one is for you.

Only Shallow

June 19, 2008

Well, I managed to find some snippets of the My Bloody Valentine rehearsal gig online and it sounds amazing. I can’t wait to see them, though I am still waiting on my tickets turning up. Anyway, here is the video for Only Shallow for you to watch. The next couple of weeks are going to be amazing. Oh, here is an interview with Kevin Shields as well.

Vitamin C

June 3, 2008

I’ve been enjoying Can again recently. Vitamin C is an amazing song. There is a realy good remix by UNKLE which basically loops the break for 7 minutes. Awesome! Anyway, I thought I would stick in a you tube video of them playing live. Enjoy. When did they stop being The Can and become Can?
